Animacanis, a small dog food manufacturer, soon to become cat food manufacturer, was founded on the ambition to provide healthy natural nutrition to a wide range of dog-owners.

The concept, i.e. the recipe was created on the basis of thinking about dogs and cats as simply being canidae and felidae respectively, by using the available scientific analysis and data, and above all by experimenting with nutrition of our own breeding dogs. Anima BARF and Anima GASTRO, as an idea were initiated in mid ninety-fifties by Mr. Hermann Palmer, owner of a Doberman farm ”V. Furstenfeld”. The sole location on which the production takes place is a small village near Zagreb, in a plant of limited capacity, in order to avoid the trap of a large scale production that usually means lower quality.

Raw material is procured SOLELY from vendors that are registrated by The Veterinary Authority of the Ministry of Agriculture, Forests and Water Economy, and also has been cleared by every test that is administered to food for human use. Priority is quality of product, the primary heritage of the founder.
